There isn’t much to say about the Colosseum. Plenty is written about it online and in books. It is one of the derigeur sights in Rome. You can’t go to Rome and not see the Colosseum. Like most of ancient Rome, it was amazing to know that these walls have stood for so long. Except that this time, the mega-touristy circus of souvenir vendors and fake centurions takes place outside rather than inside. From here, we walked up the Palatine Hills for a bit. I was experimenting with the black and white filter on my camera and so this post will be largely pictorial and in black and white.
What action these stones have seen over the years. Who walked these paths? Certainly more suited to flat sandals than stiletto heels.

Three sets of wings.

A monk out for a stroll. Love the fish motif.
